例文５：おさらい型確認質問パターンを活用した文書
Hello Jones-san,
We received your inputs. As you said, this certainly is not good
news for us, but given the situation surrounding wheat markets
today, we understand why you decided to provide us with your
alternative proposals.
Before officially accepting your proposed solution, we need to
understand a bit more on your plans. Please provide inputs on
the following:
■ Amount of wheat for the first shipment (How much could we
expect to receive in this shipment?)
■ Shipment schedules for the second and third shipments
■ Amount of wheat for the second and third shipments
Although there are other matters we need to understand in
detail, we would like to receive inputs on above three items as
soon as possible so that we can make our decision on this in
time.

一郎さんに、先日南東科学がR. Researchに送った修理用の部
品一式の中に欠品があるとの連絡が入った。
■ R.Researchは、南東科学工業が販売する実験用の測定装置を
購入した既存顧客。
■ 「We are missing a filter in the repair kit you sent us. Please
send it to us as soon as possible as so that the equipment will
become fully functional by next Monday. We need to restart
our regular measuring procedures on next Monday to meet
our customer requests.」
■ 至急フィルターを送らなければならないことは分かったが、先方
に送った交換用のフィルターは全部で3種類あり、Forsbergさん
からの情報では、どのフィルターが欠品しているのか明確ではな
い。
上に設定した状況のように、海外のカウンターパートからの情報が抽象的（もしくは曖昧）すぎて、具体的に何を意味しているのか（もしくはどのような状態なのか）が把握しにくいときに選択型確認質問は、有効な活用パターンとなります。こういった状況では、〇☓式質問では的確に質問を構成しにくくなります。また、質問する内容がある特定のトピックについてですので、おさらい型質問を使うと回りくどい印象を与えてしまう可能性があります。
例文６：選択型質問パターンを活用した文書
Dear Mr. Forsberg,
Thank you for your email to let us know the situation. We are
sorry for the inconvenience this is causing you. We will make
necessary arrangements to send you the missing filter as soon
as we can.
In order for us to do so, I would like to ask for your help in
providing us with more details on the missing filter. As you may
know, there should be three different filters in the package we
sent you. Could you please tell me which filter is missing?
Names of three filters as well as their part numbers are as
follows:
■ Outer Filter (Part Number : SC0025365)
■ Inner Filter (Part Number : SC0025788)
■ C-Shape Filter (Part Number : SC0034982)
Part numbers for these products are attached to the bottom
right corner of each product. I have also enclosed photo images
of these filters so that you can identify them easily.
Once again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience. I look
forward hearing from you soon.

上に紹介しましたケースは、相手に選択してもらう事柄が実際に存在する部品でしたので、部品の名称をリスト化することで選択型質問を構成できます。比較的単純なケースと言えるでしょう。
